Pepijn de Vos
I do software and electronics. Currently trying to make IC design more accessible with open source software.
Over the last few years yosys and nextpnr have gained traction with a fully open source flow for Latice iCE40 and ECP5 FPGAs, with several efforts for other FPGAs on the way. In this talk I will share my work on Gowin FPGAs, and explain key concepts needed to contribute to more widely supported FOSS tools.
Most synthesis goes from hardware description languages to FPGA bitstreams or ASIC designs, but what else can you do? In this talk I will demonstrate some more unconventional flows to inspire you about all the amazing experiments that are enabled by open source tools!
